Another wonderful few days with the faculty that have been brave enough to help us test out the Learning Map approach for alignment of the Physics for Engineers – Statics – Dynamics course sequence at UVM. In the second year of the learning community, we focused on facilitating critical thinking and problem-solving, identifying language- and nomenclature-based stumbling blocks, and exchanging hands-on and augmented reality activities across the sequence. Through a series of one-on-one and group meetings, the faculty and facilitators identified priorities for the coming academic year and coordinated research activities for the final year of our pilot study.
