BTV with bags.

Kathy with our bags

OK. so they’re not entirely in chronological order….

I had to figure out how to get iPhoto to make a smaller file size so I could actually get the image uploaded through our small pipe. Reception last night w/ luminaries who are aboard for a Global Issues Forum. Kathy got to say hello to Sandra Day O’Connor.

On the boat!

OK! We got ourselves (and our bags) on to the boat.

There was some minor trauma. We dropped off our bags at the curb. The folks taks the bags through security to the boat. We walk to the passenger gate. They ask for my passport. Which I had carefully put in one of my bags.  Ugh. I run out to the baggage folks, they let me access my bag, passport in hand I get aboard.

I’m in the computer lab helping a few faculty get onto the web. First meeting is at 4 (20 minutes). If our bags get to our cabin, I’ll dress up a little. If not, ah well…

Packing

Packing is boring, but I sure appreciated the lists and tips other travelers supplied. Leaving Wed morning. Work Monday/Tuesday. Beers with buds Monday night. So today (Sunday) is the real “get packed” day.

Left shot, mostly-not-clothes stuff, middle and right, mostly-clothes stuff.

My categories were

School supplies

Clothes

Toiletry

Electronics

Books

Two duffle-bags, and one carry-on. I’m bringing 2 laptops. Dell and MacBookPro.

I’ll be doing end-user-computing support, and it’s a long time since I used a mac, so I got one to bring. Pluswhich, Kathy’s Dell is so old and slow, I’m pretty sure she will wind up using the mac.
