February; Survival

I visited my spot recently, and was not surprised to see it still covered in snow (mostly ice). There were many old and indiscernible tracks scattered around. I did however manage to see a robin, and a few other birds I did not recognize. I had a very difficult time trying to capture a picture of the robin, and I did not manage to get a half decent photo. The robin is an omnivore that use trees and shrubs for foraging. They adapt well to most spaces available to them (Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department).

There have been little to no phenological changes at my site this past month. Snow has covered the ground since I was last there, and random animal tracks are often found dispersed with no noticeable change.
