How did I stumble upon Salmon Hole? I was on google maps looking for cool spots not too far from my dorm, McAuley Hall, and I saw this weird peninsula that sticks out into the Winooski River. I looked it up on google and was intrigued by the giant rocks that are there. When I visited for the first time it was just about past sunset and it was gorgeous! One side is a huge cliff with beautiful fall foliage on top with a solid swimming hole.
the other side is the continuation of Winooski River in which was wide and even more gorgeous with the setting sun reflecting on it! Not to mention I was standing on a big flat rock.
This awesome spot is super close to campus and even has a little beach, or fishing spots to use! It’s a really nice spot just to relax or go swimming, well during the warmer months. I recommend checking out Salmon hole because it’s a quick and beautiful walk!
