Hello and Happy New Year!
Today I got the chance to pitch a Video Production Club to the entire St Johnsbury Middle-school. It was exhilarating.

Happy Tuesday!
The holidays are here at the UVM Extension Office and we’re getting some housekeeping done before the break.
While cleaning out some cubicles I learned that the 4-H program is the proud owner of 10 iPads that are leftover from a previous Tech Wizard grant.
Because of the mysterious iCloud and passwords that are long gone, I had the pleasure of wiping the units and starting over fresh for some brand new programming! I decided to give each iPad a name/wallpaper of a famous scientist. Pictured below are Katherine Johnson and Ada Lovelace.
Here’s the full list of the trailblazing ladies that will be honored as the backgrounds for our program iPads:
Susan Wojcicki: CEO of Youtube. After overseeing Google Video for some time, Susan proposed that the company acquire Youtube (which at the time was a small startup). In 2006, she handled the $1.65 billion purchase.
Why just women you might ask? Why not!
You’ve stumbled upon the Program Asistant Corner for UVM Extension 4-H in St Johnsbury, VT.
My name is Katie Carroll (UVM class of ’10) and I’m very excited to serve as the Americorps 4-H Program Assistants through the Lyndon Economic opportunity AmeriCorps Program (LEAP).
What a mouthful! But it’s very awesome.
LEAP is a national service program that places AmeriCorps members with non-profit organizations throughout the Northeast Kingdom (NEK) of Vermont to support those organizations in expanding their services that many communities rely on. LEAP members deliver direct service to local youth in the form of Pre-K-12 STEM educational programming.
LEAP also supports its members (me) in their path to educational and career attainment through direct service, on-going training’s, and professional development opportunities.
Thanks for taking to time to read this post, and if you’re a resident of the Northeast Kingdom I hope to see you in our NEK of the woods!
