Crescent Woods, November 1

An afternoon in Crescent Woods:

I hear the leave crunch beneath me as I walk down the wooden steps, off the road. As I see the brook I no longer hear the cars passing by or sounds of the neighborhood, only the chirping birds and flowing water. I sit down under the big tree at the edge of the maple forest. Across from me, I see the fallen trees (the only bridge between the two strips of land).

This visit (11/1/2021) it was 44 degrees Fahrenheit and cloudy. Compared to last visit, there was much more water in the brook, likely due to the recent increased rain. The floor was covered in leaves, more than last time. The leaves still on the trees were only green or yellow, most of the darker red and orange trees had already lost their leaves.
