Wildlife in Urban Areas

This page explores ways to create habitat for wildlife in heavily developed urban areas. With human population growing and the rate that cities are expanding, it is imperative that we consider wildlife habitat when planning land use in urban areas. I have looked at several articles which show some approaches to rewilding urban lands, from creating a park out of a landfill to making suburban lawns more wildlife-friendly. You will also find a study on bird and plant diversity and a document outlining Oregon’s Department of Fish and Wildlife’s plans for increasing biodiversity in its cities.
