Hello! I am Jessica Strolin-Goltzman. I am a social worker researcher and experiential education enthusiast honored to be a full Professor at the University of Vermont where I have my feet firmly planted in the two worlds of education and social services within the College of Education & Social Services. I am an implementation scholar focusing on trauma-informed and resiliency-oriented strategies, grounded in connection and relationships, and aiming to improve social and emotional well-being of children, youth, families and the workforce across child welfare, mental health, and school settings. I have been lucky to have received over 19 million dollars in funding from the US Department of Health and Human Services and other federal sources. In addition to my faculty role, I serve as the Director of Evaluation for the Vermont Child Welfare Training Partnership and has served in an advisory capacity to several national committees including the National Child Welfare Workforce Institute (NCCWI).
My clinical practice experience includes child welfare and adolescent substance abuse treatment. I am trained in CBT, adventure based/wilderness therapy, and expressive arts modalities. In my fun time, I enjoy hiking, kayaking, and skiing with my family in the Vermont and Adirondack mountains.
