Since the fall, Salmon Hole has changed a lot. Its once vibrant trees with colorful leaves and a beautiful view are gone and you can now see aways down the river. This visit was much more lonely than the last time I was here as there were no animals at all. The once plentiful tracks were covered by the high water level and fast moving river. There was no signs showing animals like birds were around the past few days or weeks. As I reflect on my first semester at Salmon Hole, I remember the first time I arrived in the fall with beautiful colors, an amazing river, and lots of birds and other wildlife. That moment has stuck with me since and it is my favorite memory from my phenology spot.
