25 as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/the-press-office\/2010\/09\/17\/presidential-proclamation-national-farm-safety-and-health-week\">National Farm Safety and Health Week<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Farmers work with potentially hazardous equipment, animals, and conditions on a daily basis.\u00a0 Sometimes they need a reminder to take routine precautions.\u00a0 SAFETY IS NO ACCIDENT.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/jmsmith\/files\/2010\/11\/rops-belly-up.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-216\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/jmsmith\/files\/2010\/11\/rops-belly-up-213x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"213\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/jmsmith\/files\/2010\/11\/rops-belly-up-213x300.jpg 213w, https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/jmsmith\/files\/2010\/11\/rops-belly-up-729x1024.jpg 729w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 213px) 100vw, 213px\" \/><\/a>The Vermont Agency of Ag recently produced a sobering 2-part video about farm safety, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vermontagriculture.com\/news\/2010\/accidentsVideo.html\">A <\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vermontagriculture.com\/news\/2010\/accidentsVideo.html\">Farm Accident Could Happen to Any One of Us<\/a>.\u00a0 The videos are posted on YouTube and can also be found at the Agency website.\u00a0 On the 28<sup>th<\/sup>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uvm.edu\/extension\/?Page=News&amp;storyID=17065\">Vermont Rebates for Roll Bars <\/a>will be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vermontagriculture.com\/news\/2010\/tractorSept22.html\">launched<\/a> to assist farmers in retrofitting older tractors with this life-saving safety equipment.<\/p>\n<p>Need more information on agricultural safety?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.necasag.org\/\">The National Education Center for Agricultural Safety<\/a> has a nice list of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.http:\/\/www.necasag.org\/nationalfarmsafetyandhealthweek\/\">resources<\/a> available.\u00a0 Last year I checked out the National Ag Safety Database interactive training course on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nasdtraining.org\/main\/training\">sharing the road with agricultural vehicles<\/a>.\u00a0 This is a good time of year to take a look at that one.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cEvery day, the lives of Americans are touched by the hard work and dedication of our Nation&#8217;s farmers, ranchers, and farmworkers. \u00a0The food they produce through their tireless efforts fuels our Nation, nourishes our bodies, and sustains millions at home &hellip;
