This blog is a place for me to describe the phenology of a spot of my choice. I reside in Burlington, Vermont, and am interested in studying the wildlife in wooded areas near me. I chose this spot because it is right next to my usual running route. It is in alongside the Burlington bike path near Spear St., and neighbors the golf course. On my runs, I have encountered garter snakes, red squirrels, moth larvae, and some downy woodpeckers. I love this spot because despite being so close to the street and a golf course, it is incredibly quiet. I would never have expected all this wildlife to be in a spot like this. It has diversity of herbaceous and wooded species, as well as animal species.
