as such, it is increasingly important for primary care clinicians to be diligent in their screening of young children for social, emotional, behavioral, and language developmental concerns and refer those children for a more thorough assessment. \u00a0Early screening and comprehensive assessments help to ensure that children who struggle with autism spectrum illness are provided with interventions that will help in fostering their developmental success. \u00a0Our literature continues to reveal that early intervention is critical in achieving positive outcomes for those with autism and related disorders.<\/p>\n<p>As part our partnership with the Veront Department of Health, we have developed this Blog as a communication tool to enhance our clinic&#8217;s role in the Vermont system of care. \u00a0We aim to assist primary care clinicians in providing state-of-the-science care to the families that they serve by offering practical and easily accessible information related to the screening and assessment of autism spectrum illness.<\/p>\n<p>This Blog will be regularly updated with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Regular postings from VCCYF \u00a0and AAC staff about the screening, assessment, and treatment of autism spectrum illnesses<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Links to important local and national resources<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Responses to questions proposed by Blog readers<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We appreciate your continued interest and look forward to engaging in a dynamic and stimulating dialogue.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jeremiah Dickerson, MD &#038;
