It&#8217;s an invasive weed that grows prolifically on disturbed ground such as roadsides.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/jbenne10\/files\/2025\/04\/20250425_111500-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-66 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/jbenne10\/files\/2025\/04\/20250425_111500-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/jbenne10\/files\/2025\/04\/20250425_111500-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/jbenne10\/files\/2025\/04\/20250425_111500-rotated.jpg 1148w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>The river looked beautiful, it was a deep blue-green from the sediment. I wonder if this is a healthy color for the river, from my time spent in Maine, I&#8217;ve learned that this rich color means that there&#8217;s life in the water.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>I encountered a bunch of species during my trip, some really common ones like American robin, garlic mustard as mentioned before, lots of moss, but one that I was pretty surprised to find was wild strawberry, I found it nestled between two great slabs of limestone.
