\u201cI first began work with Huertas January of 2015 as the Social Media and Communication Intern after learning about the organization through a presentation from former Huertas superstar, Jessie Mazar. At this point in my life I was just in my second year living in Vermont and could have never expected the enormous and fulfilling role being apart of the Huertas team would play in my life over the course of the next two and a half years. Working in such an incredible and unique community with such an inspiring team of people really changed the course of my life in Vermont for the best. During my time working with Huertas, I played a number of different formal roles, like updating the social media, screen printing t shirts, organizing food days, assisting in research (as well as conducting my own), and of course working with participants in planting gardens. In each role I played, I learned so much about myself, the Huertas team, and the vibrant migrant farmworker community in Vermont. For me being involved with Huertas was much more than an organization, it was a community brought together through sharing food and culture. Huertas is planting gardens, but it is also attending birthdays and baptisms, getting lost in rural Vermont, sharing stories of home, and so much more. I am infinitely grateful for the opportunity I had to be apart of this unique organization and I continue to be inspired by the work of my former bosses and coworkers. \u00a1Abrazos!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In the spring of 2015, Claire worked as the Social Media and Communication Intern.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the summer of 2015 she received funding from UVM to do research related to Huertas.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the fall of 2015 she was the General Huertas Intern.<\/span><\/p>\n

She did an array or projects and work for Huertas towards the end of the summer in 2016.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the fall of 2016 she was the General Huertas Intern for the second time.<\/span><\/p>\n

She was the Assistant Project Coordinator for the spring and summer of 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n

We will miss Claire dearly, but are also so excited to see what she does and where life takes her. \u00a1Todo lo mejor ahora y siempre! \u2013 The entire Huertas team.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cEmpec\u00e9 a trabajar con Huertas en enero del 2015 como la encargada de Comunicaci\u00f3n y Medios Sociales despu\u00e9s de ir a una presentaci\u00f3n donde una ex trabajadora de Huertas\u2014la superestrella, Jessie Mazar\u2014explic\u00f3 de lo que trataba la organizaci\u00f3n. En este punto de mi vida estaba en mi segundo a\u00f1o de universidad en Vermont y nunca me pude haber imaginado el impacto que iba tener este trabajo en los pr\u00f3ximos dos a\u00f1os de mi vida. Trabajar con una comunidad tan \u00fanica e incre\u00edble y con una equipo de gente que me inspir\u00f3 tanto cambi\u00f3 el curso de mi vida en Vermont para lo mejor. Durante mi tiempo trabajando con Huertas, ten\u00eda varias posiciones formales como actualizar los medios sociales, hacer playeras con el logo de Huertas, organizar d\u00edas de comida, asistir y realizar proyectos de investigaci\u00f3n y trabajar con participantes en sembrar las huertas. Con todas las actividades que realic\u00e9, aprend\u00ed much\u00edsimo de m\u00ed misma, del equipo de Huertas y de la comunidad vibrante de los trabajadores agr\u00edcolas en Vermont. Para m\u00ed, estar involucrada en Huertas fue mucho m\u00e1s que solo una organizaci\u00f3n; fue crear una comunidad unida por medio de compartir comida y cultura. Huertas se trata de sembrar huertitas pero tambi\u00e9n se trata de asistir a celebraciones de cumplea\u00f1os y bautismos, perderse en las zonas rurales de Vermont, compartir historias de casa y mucho, mucho m\u00e1s. Estoy infinitamente agradecida por la oportunidad de ser parte de esta organizaci\u00f3n \u00fanica y me siento inspirada por el trabajo de mis ex-jefas y mis compa\u00f1er@s de trabajo. \u00a1Abrazos!<\/span><\/p>\n

En el verano del 2015, recibi\u00f3 una beca de UVM para realizar una investigaci\u00f3n relacionada con Huertas.<\/span><\/p>\n

En el oto\u00f1o del 2015 fue la Becaria General de Huertas.<\/span><\/p>\n

Realiz\u00f3 una variedad de proyectos y trabajos para Huertas al final del verano del 2016.<\/span><\/p>\n

En el oto\u00f1o del 2016 fue la Becaria General de Huertas por segunda vez.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fue la Asistente de Coordinador de Proyecto en la primera y verano del 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n
