Dr. Teresa Mares is Associate Professor of Anthropology at the University of Vermont. She is currently engaged in an ethnographic study examining border politics and food access issues among Latinx dairy workers in Vermont. Her book, Life on the Other Border: Farmworkers and Food Justice in Vermont was just published by the University of California Press. Her work has appeared in several journals, including Food and Foodways, Latino Studies, Agriculture and Human Values, Working USA, The Journal of Pedagogic Development, and the Journal of Agricultural, Food Systems and Community Development, in addition to numerous edited volumes. She is the co-director of Huertas, a food security project for Latino/a dairy farmworkers connected to UVM Extension’s Bridges to Health Program.

Naomi Wolcott-MacCausland
Migrant Health Coordinator
Bridges to Health/Puentes a la Salud
Naomi Wolcott-MacCausland is the Migrant Health Coordinator for Bridges to Health at UVM Extension, a program that increases health care access for immigrant farmworkers in the state by offering enabling services while simultaneously working with local health entities to build their cultural and linguistic capacity. She designed, implemented and currently oversees the lay health promoter program that was established in 2012 in northern Vermont and is now statewide. Additionally, Naomi co-directs Huertas, a food access project for immigrant farmworkers in northern Vermont.
