{"id":2518,"date":"2012-01-11T14:53:02","date_gmt":"2012-01-11T18:53:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.uvm.edu\/extension\/cropsoil\/?p=2518"},"modified":"2012-03-23T12:46:05","modified_gmt":"2012-03-23T16:46:05","slug":"neha-bulk-order","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/hoppenin\/2012\/01\/11\/neha-bulk-order\/","title":{"rendered":"NeHA bulk order"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi All,<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/nehopalliance.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Northeast Hop Alliance<\/span><\/a> is preparing to place their Cooperative Purchasing order for both rhizomes and coir.\u00a0 If you did not reply to the Cooperative Purchasing survey, posted here in December, you may still place an order.\u00a0 If you did reply to the survey, that DOES NOT mean that you have placed an order.\u00a0 You can download the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.uvm.edu\/extension\/cropsoil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012-NeHA-Cooperative-Order-Form.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">.pdf order form here<\/a>,<\/span> or the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uvm.edu\/extension\/cropsoil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012-NeHA-Cooperative-Order-Form.docx\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">.docx version here<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Orders are due January 24, but <em>it is preferred that you place your orders by January 20th<\/em>.\u00a0 The rhizome quotes are very reasonable at $1.50\/rhizome, with a 10% discount if you pay in full when you order (so $1.35\/rhizome).\u00a0 Varieties available can be found on the order forms above.\u00a0 Coir orders must be paid in full at the time of ordering.\u00a0 W-Clips and Clip Applicators are also available through NeHA via Foothill Farms.\u00a0 Contact information is available on the order forms.<\/p>\n<p>Also of note, Steve Miller, the New York State Hops Educator, has virus-free live plants available at $5.00 each, with a minimum order of 30 plants per variety, available in increments of 30.\u00a0 The available varieties are Fuggle, Cascade, Newport, Liberty, Willamette and Perle.\u00a0 Virus free hop cuttings ensure that you plant your hopyard with stock which is free of diseases such as downy and powdery mildew and hop latent virus.\u00a0 For more information, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a title=\"Virus free plant cuttings\" href=\"mailto:hops.educator@gmail.com\">contact him by email<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>If you miss the NeHA deadlines, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.atlantichops.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Atlantic Hops<\/span><\/a> is still offering rhizomes at a very competitive rate, and they have extended their ordering deadline to February 1st.<\/p>\n<p>Now is also the time to be thinking about placing orders for your hopyard poles.\u00a0 Cedar and larch\/tamarack are harvested when the ground is frozen, so talk to your logger soon!\u00a0 Steve Miller, the New York State Hops Educator has assembled <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uvm.edu\/extension\/cropsoil\/wp-content\/uploads\/Hop-pole-suppliers.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">this list of contacts<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0 As he says, this is not an exhaustive list, nor is it an assurance of quality.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi All, The Northeast Hop Alliance is preparing to place their Cooperative Purchasing order for both rhizomes and coir.\u00a0 If you did not reply to the Cooperative Purchasing survey, posted here in December, you may still place an order.\u00a0 If you did reply to the survey, that DOES NOT mean that you have placed an &hellip;
