This blog is a phenological and ecological exploration of place in the Burlington area, specifically in Centennial Woods!
I hope you’ll enjoy my adventures as I learn about the plants, animals, soil, and other components of my little section of Earth. I greatly value beauty and spiritual connection to place, so expect some commentary on that as I go as well!
Also – I’ll soon be starting a project that runs in conjunction with this one, where I will be coming and painting a landscape of my place once a week. Hopefully by the end of this project I can see the slow progression of color and composition of the place, and how beautiful nature is as it changes through the seasons. It will help me familiarize myself, and hopefully be interesting to you all as well! Keep an eye on the Sketches & Art section of the blog for that series coming soon!
