The BioBlitz unfortunately fell on a very busy time for me, so I wasn&#8217;t able to participate as much as I would have liked.  That being said, I definitely made sure to snap pictures of some species that were closer to my dorm and around my walks on campus. I found a total of 10 different species (there was undeniably more, but this is what I found) right in the area around my dorm and the dining hall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"777\" height=\"792\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/ggrzanphenology\/files\/2024\/04\/inat-bioblitz.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-160\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/ggrzanphenology\/files\/2024\/04\/inat-bioblitz.png 777w, https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/ggrzanphenology\/files\/2024\/04\/inat-bioblitz-294x300.png 294w, https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/ggrzanphenology\/files\/2024\/04\/inat-bioblitz-768x783.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 777px) 100vw, 777px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The most interesting species that I found was definitely the serviceberries- I&#8217;ve never had one but I&#8217;ve heard that they taste really good, so maybe when I come back next semester they&#8217;ll still be fruiting and I can taste one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/ggrzanphenology\/files\/2024\/04\/phenology.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-161\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/ggrzanphenology\/files\/2024\/04\/phenology.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/ggrzanphenology\/files\/2024\/04\/phenology-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Serviceberry buds (Genus <em>Amelanchier<\/em>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;m a big fan of iNaturalist, so I had a nice experience using it. It went very smoothly as I have a decent amount of past experience using the app\/browser. Seeing the reports from the other cities is really cool, and it&#8217;s really awesome to watch the BioBlitz connect so many people and so many countries across the world.
