This blog was created as a final project for the University of Vermont’s course in Stream Ecology. Taught by Pablo Gutierrez-Fonseca, students have been spending their spring semester learning and engaging with Vermont’s streams and ecosystems. We hope that by learning about the value of Vermont’s streams and the threats they face, action will be taken to protect them. If we do not change our current practices, we will not meet our future goals.

A huge thank you to Pablo Gutiérrez-Fonseca for supporting us through this course and educating many on the importance of streams, especially in their role towards nutrient cycling in Vermont.
