Welcome to My Phenology Spot- 10/9/2022

Welcome to my Rock Point Phenology site!

I stumbled upon this special spot while on a trail run along the Rock Point Peninsula. There are many lookout spots along the outer trail, but I chose this one because it feels a bit more secluded. You go down a few steps right to the water in a shallow cove. From this spot you can see the thrust-fault rock formations of shale and dolostone, the tree-line on top, the Adirondack mountains in the distance, and the water of Lake Champlain lapping at your feet. There are a variety of coniferous trees along the little beach and in the surrounding area, as well as some hardwoods like maples and beeches. Signs of human life activity at the site include a buoy floating in the water and a couple of kayaks on the shore.
