31 January 2014 – Friday

  • I took a vacation day (due to a sick pet, and necessary vet visitation) – therefore stornode3 decided today was a bloody good day to have the NFS client freeze up.
  • Found it at about 3:30pm.
  • Ben did a bunch of debugging (way more than I know how to do) and determined that nfsiod was hanging waiting for responses from the NFS server on bujbod1.  Then he discovered that the ipfilter on bujbod1 which was set up to maintain state, was apparently broken.
  • Ben removed the state from the NFS connections and stornode3 unhung itself.  We think it is resolved.  We’ll see if it stays functioning over the weekend.
