{"id":923,"date":"2015-10-21T12:12:04","date_gmt":"2015-10-21T16:12:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/farmvia\/?p=923"},"modified":"2015-10-21T12:12:04","modified_gmt":"2015-10-21T16:12:04","slug":"usda-farm-storage-facility-loans-expands-to-dairy-flowers-and-meats","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/farmvia\/?p=923","title":{"rendered":"USDA Farm Storage Facility Loans Expands to Dairy, Flowers and Meats"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FSA\u2019s Farm Storage Facility Loan (FSFL) program, which provides low-interest financing to producers to build or upgrade storage facilities, will now include dairy, flowers and meats as eligible commodities.<\/p>\n<p>For more information go to this link\u00a0 to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fsa.usda.gov\/programs-and-services\/price-support\/facility-loans\/index\">FSA Farm Facility Loans<\/a> \u00a0or contact your local FSA office.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Producers <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">do not need<\/span> to demonstrate the lack of commercial credit availability to apply.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The new commodities eligible for facility loans include :<br \/>\n\u2022 floriculture<br \/>\n\u2022 hops<br \/>\n\u2022 rye<br \/>\n\u2022 milk<br \/>\n\u2022 cheese<br \/>\n\u2022 butter<br \/>\n\u2022 yogurt<br \/>\n\u2022 meat and poultry (unprocessed)<br \/>\n\u2022 eggs<br \/>\n\u2022 and aquaculture (excluding systems that maintain live animals through uptake and discharge of water).<br \/>\n**Commodities already eligible for the loans include corn, grain sorghum, rice, soybeans, oats, peanuts, wheat, barley, minor oilseeds harvested as whole grain, pulse crops (lentils, chickpeas and dry peas), hay, honey, renewable biomass, and fruits, nuts and vegetables for cold storage facilities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FSA\u2019s Farm Storage Facility Loan (FSFL) program, which provides low-interest financing to producers to build or upgrade storage facilities, will now include dairy, flowers and meats as eligible commodities.
