Seeking interns for Summer through Fall 2016

 Work description:

This internship position is for approximately 5-8 hours of work per week conducting a mix of field and laboratory experiments to study water quality impacts of bioretention filter systems. All work will take place at the Water Quality and Climate Change Research Laboratory at 251 Jeffords Hall (Plant and Soil Science Department).  The ideal candidate will have some experience in a laboratory setting, be comfortable working independently, and have a genuine interest in water and soil science.  The work involves mix of field work (e.g., deploying automatic samplers, collecting water and soil samples, vegetation clipping etc.) and laboratory analysis (e.g., preparing water and soil samples for nutrient analysis, total suspended solids, making reagents and standards for analysis, data entry). Occasional work in inclement weather as well as some heavy lifting (50 lbs.) will be required.

 This position provides great experience for anyone looking to enter the fields of water and soil science.  This position is unpaid but earning credit is definitely possible.
