Paid Internship: Summer 2018
The American Chestnut Foundation (TACF) is working to breed blight-resistant American chestnuts and restore this important species to our forests. You can help!
Internship duties will include:
•Assist with all aspects of TACF’s New England regional science programs.
•Plant and maintain American chestnuts in field and greenhouse settings.
•Grow and maintain fungal cultures of chestnut blight.
•Conduct inoculation, breeding selection, and pollination activities.
•Enter data and digitized records in TACF’s online database.
Requirements:
•Some training in forestry, ecology, horticulture, biology, or related fields.
•Good written and oral communication skills, strong time-management skills.
•Ability to work well independently and in group settings.
•Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel; good attention to detail.
•Travel throughout New England will be required. Candidate MUST have own vehicle and current driver’s license.
•Candidate must be willing to work with a flexible schedule.

This position pays $12.50/hour for approximately 12 weeks of work. The internship is based at TACF’s New England office in South Burlington, VT.
