I&#8217;m starting to notice the beginning signs of spring and I&#8217;m enjoying being able to see the ground again. My walk to the tree was very nice until I had to go uphill where the ice hadn&#8217;t melted yet, but once I carefully maneuvered up the hill, I was at my spot. The first thing I noticed about the American Beech is that the buds are a slightly lighter color. I also noticed that there is only one single leaf left on the tree that persisted throughout the winter. Other than that, there were no other significant changes in the tree.
