We are seeking a candidate with a commitment to<br \/>\nworking with diverse student populations in an urban setting. We hope to<br \/>\nrecruit candidates who are bi-lingual in Spanish, Cantonese, or Mandarian.<br \/>\nThe position will be open as of February 1st. It will be a permanent<br \/>\npostition, subject to furlough.<\/p>\n<p>The Education Coordinator at Muir Woods National Monument is an integral<br \/>\nteam member of the park\u2019s Education Team, as well as contributor to the<br \/>\noverall site operations at Muir Woods. The education coordinator develops,<br \/>\npresents, manages, and evaluates curriculum-based education programs on a<br \/>\nvariety of topics, including biodiversity, redwood ecology, climate change,<br \/>\nwatersheds, San Francisco Bay Area history. The coordinator at times may<br \/>\ntrain, coach, and lead volunteers, seasonals, and NPS staff in the<br \/>\neducation programs. The education coordinator works closely with schools<br \/>\nand bus companies to schedule programs and transportation.<\/p>\n<p>The person in this position will be asked to<\/p>\n<p>work effectively with diverse groups and individuals on collaborative<br \/>\nprojects and educational programming partnerships<br \/>\ndevelop and deliver curriculum-based education programs in the field<br \/>\nor in the classroom according to best practices and ability to engage<br \/>\nculturally diverse audiences<br \/>\ncommunicate in writing, including write age-appropriate curricula<br \/>\nfor different styles of learners in grades K-12<br \/>\ndevelop and deliver intrepretive programs based on relevant and<br \/>\nengaging \u00a0topics<\/p>\n<p>Please ask any interested individual to contact me directly for a possible<br \/>\ninterview, including someone who might be graduating or available as of<br \/>\nJune 2013.
