ACEEE seeks an intern for its communications department.<br \/>\nThis internship begins Summer 2013 with the possibility of extending into the fall semester and it is based in Washington, D.C. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. We do not accept calls about our internships.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Communications Intern<\/strong> &#8211; Paid<\/p>\n<p>Position Description:<\/p>\n<p>ACEEE seeks a part-time intern to assist with communications for the organization. The internship will be an excellent opportunity for those interested in communications at a nonprofit organization with a focus on energy and environmental issues. The accepted candidate will receive some training on public relations web-based tools as necessary.<\/p>\n<p>Duties and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain a database of news articles;<\/li>\n<li>Press-based research as needed;<\/li>\n<li>Create media lists;<\/li>\n<li>Assist Communications Associate with publication and outreach duties;<\/li>\n<li>Research social media tools; and<\/li>\n<li>Log data in ACEEE contact database.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Skills\/Qualifications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Possess or are working towards a Bachelor&#8217;s or Master&#8217;s degree in a related field;<\/li>\n<li>Interest in energy and environmental issues strongly preferred;<\/li>\n<li>Experience with PR tools such as Constant Contact and Vocus preferred;<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written and oral communication skills required; and<\/li>\n<li>Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple assignments (as needed), work efficiently, and meet deadlines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Timing: Local applicants preferred as this internship will begin in the summer 2013 with the possibility of extending into the fall semester.
