We will be planting <span style=\"color: #009900\"><b>14 large shade trees<\/b><\/span> (~15 feet tall, 2.5-3 in. caliper) on Cedar, Rose, and Lafountain Streets in the Old North End and need volunteers to help dig holes and plant the trees.\u00a0 The event will begin at 9am at the corner of Rose &amp; Cedar Streets.\u00a0 No experience necessary (we&#8217;ll do a planting demo) and all ages are welcome.\u00a0 Wear work gloves and bring a shovel if you have one.<\/p>\n<p>This event is made possible by funding through the <span style=\"color: #009900\"><b>TD Green Streets Program<\/b><\/span>, a partnership between TD Bank and the Arbor Day Foundation.\u00a0 The Burlington Parks &amp; Recreation Department was awarded a <span style=\"color: #009900\"><b>$20,000 grant to support innovative practices in urban forestry<\/b><\/span> and this community tree planting is the kick-off for the grant period.
