Phenological Poetry

A lovely November sunset from my phenology place

Warm, summery air blows through the forest on a mid-November afternoon.

The leafless tree tops softly shift in the breeze causing the remaining bird’s nests to sway with them.

Though fall is well underway, it feels as though spring could be just around the corner.

The animals are not fooled.

Squirrels loudly scuffle around the forest floor in search of any nuts they may have missed in previous trips.

Geese have continued their southern migration.

With the shift in seasons, the land takes advantage of a new beginning.

One season comes to an end.

Another season is just beginning.

With the end of one chapter, there is only opportunity for new growth in another.
