In order to make this a more holiday\/thanksgiving feel, we decided to rent a little house on Lake Lewisville, where my dad used to fish when he was in high school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the subdivision, we stayed at there was a trail that spat me out near Wynwood park, where I wandered upon another trail until I found a nice spot in the woods. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/Nh7brF3hnEhEhFbr8\">https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/Nh7brF3hnEhEhFbr8<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"540\" height=\"427\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/ebritt1\/files\/2024\/11\/Screen-Shot-2024-11-29-at-4.01.39-PM.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/ebritt1\/files\/2024\/11\/Screen-Shot-2024-11-29-at-4.01.39-PM.png 540w, https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/ebritt1\/files\/2024\/11\/Screen-Shot-2024-11-29-at-4.01.39-PM-300x237.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I felt the soil, and it seemed pretty clay-ey. I used my phone to identify the trees, most of which were <strong>Bur Oak, American Elm, Cedar Elm, Pecan, and Sugar Hackberry<\/strong>. They all had MANY more leaves than the trees back, in Vermont. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I enjoyed the quiet of the forest, as Dallas has been very hectic with lots of noise pollution. I spend most of my time in the woods lying down on my backpack, staring at the blue-bell sky through the leaves.
