Whether cooling stacked pallets, pallet bins or individual cartons, the same principals apply. A smaller pallet cooler was noted <a href=\"http:\/\/go.uvm.edu\/forcedaircooling\">on the previous page<\/a>, but this concept can be scaled down even further to fit your needs. Here is a prototype, that could fit on a countertop with-in a walk-in cooler.<\/p>\n<h2>Framing:<\/h2>\n<p>Constructed of 2&#215;4\u2019s on top of a horizontal base made from 1\/2\u201d plywood cut 24\u201d deep and 44\u201d wide. Angled reinforcements were needed to stiffen the assembly.<\/p>\n<h2>Plenum Panel:<\/h2>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/cwcallah\/files\/2018\/10\/IMG_0007-e1539132691257.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1672 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/cwcallah\/files\/2018\/10\/IMG_0007-e1539132691257-1024x800.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"331\" height=\"258\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/cwcallah\/files\/2018\/10\/IMG_0007-e1539132691257-1024x800.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/cwcallah\/files\/2018\/10\/IMG_0007-e1539132691257-300x234.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/cwcallah\/files\/2018\/10\/IMG_0007-e1539132691257-768x600.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 331px) 100vw, 331px\" \/><\/a>The plenum (vertical wall) was built 16\u201d deep by 24\u201d tall and assembled with decking screws. 1\/2\u201d Plastic coated hardware cloth was used to provide a back-stop for the carton being cooled, to keep the plenum space from being closed, and to provide proper air flow from the end of the crates through the product and out through the blower.<\/p>\n<h2>Plastic Wrap:<\/h2>\n<p>4-mil poly is fastened to the top and two sides of the plenum, and long enough to extend over your desired number of bulb crates or vented boxes you wish to cool at once. This was secured with decking screws through fender washers with the plastic wrapped around strips of plywood.<\/p>\n<h2>Blower:<\/h2>\n<p>The blower used was the same <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=12%E2%80%9D+Portable+Ventilation+Blower&amp;rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS749US749&amp;oq=12%E2%80%9D+Portable+Ventilation+Blower&amp;aqs=chrome..69i57j33l2.569j0j7&amp;sourceid=chrome&amp;ie=UTF-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">12\u201d blower<\/a> from Global International as the pallet cooler.
