{"id":2113,"date":"2018-07-30T09:00:11","date_gmt":"2018-07-30T13:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/ctl\/?p=2113"},"modified":"2018-07-21T11:52:46","modified_gmt":"2018-07-21T15:52:46","slug":"save-time-and-headache-bb-date-management-tool","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/ctl\/2018\/07\/30\/save-time-and-headache-bb-date-management-tool\/","title":{"rendered":"Save Time and Headache: Bb Date Management Tool"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While editing a document to change dates from one semester to the next (syllabus editing, anyone?) might be the epitome of <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-2125\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/ctl\/files\/2018\/07\/CalloutBlog2.png\" alt=\"Fake Student Message\" width=\"334\" height=\"292\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/ctl\/files\/2018\/07\/CalloutBlog2.png 400w, https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/ctl\/files\/2018\/07\/CalloutBlog2-300x263.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 334px) 100vw, 334px\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.merriam-webster.com\/dictionary\/administrivia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">administrivia<\/a>, Blackboard, fortunately, has a handy Date Management tool to automatically make many such updates.<\/p>\n<p>First, bring your old content into your new Blackboard course shell (using the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uvm.edu\/ctl\/?Page=blackboard\/copyingcourse.php&amp;SM=m_blackboard.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Course Copy<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uvm.edu\/ctl\/?Page=blackboard\/importing.php&amp;SM=m_blackboard.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Import<\/a> tool).<\/p>\n<p>Second, use the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uvm.edu\/ctl\/?Page=blackboard\/date-management.php&amp;SM=m_blackboard.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Date Management<\/a> tool to adjust all Bb dates (such as due dates and availability dates) to match the new semester for your copied or imported content. In most cases, choose the \u201cUse Course Start Date\u201d option, and set the first class session as the <em>new<\/em> course start date.
