How has Irene impacted your life? your landscape? your neighbors? What happened in your town?

BRIDGEWATER

Bridgewater is cut off from the world.  Route 4 is impassable on both the east and west sides of town, expect for a brief time each day.  For several days residents had no power, no internet access and no landline telephone service.  Dayna Astbury wants everyone to know that the Long Trail Brewery, located on Route 4, was incredibly generous to residents.   Dayna wrote:

“Long Trail Brewery has been amazing in their relief efforts. They are feeding people for free, delivering food regularly for everyone working to put our town back together. They have free ice, are encouraging people to come in and charge cellphones and use the restrooms that actually flush. They’ll even give you a beer! Please post this and get the word out that by supporting them, they can continue to support this community. Thanks, Dayna”

She also posts this photo of the National Guard helicopter arriving in Bridgewater.  They stopped to ask directions to Barnard!
