{"id":11,"date":"2008-12-09T17:10:52","date_gmt":"2008-12-09T22:10:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/compute\/2008\/12\/09\/running-over-your-inbox-quota\/"},"modified":"2015-09-30T09:24:44","modified_gmt":"2015-09-30T14:24:44","slug":"running-over-your-inbox-quota","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/compute\/2008\/12\/09\/running-over-your-inbox-quota\/","title":{"rendered":"Running over your Inbox quota?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Are you getting notices that you&#8217;re approaching the limit of your 50 MB Inbox quota?<br \/>\nAre you involved in a collaborative project that is generating lots of big email attachments?<br \/>\nAside from the usual recommendations that you delete email you don&#8217;t need, file it in IMAP mailboxes other than Inbox and don&#8217;t forget to make sure that whatever email client you are using is set to purge at some point (verify this by logging into your account via <a href=\"http:\/\/webmail.uvm.edu\">webmail<\/a>)<br \/>\nOne easy way of handling this is to divert &#8220;big&#8221; email messages out of your inbox and into another IMAP folder as they arrive.<br \/>\nYou can do this in the UVM filtering website:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uvm.edu\/account\">http:\/\/www.uvm.edu\/account<\/a><br \/>\nLog in using your UVM netID and password<br \/>\nClick on Email Filtering<br \/>\nClick Add New Filter<br \/>\nUnder &#8220;Filter Big Messages&#8221; choose the minimum size message that you want filtered and then either select an IMAP mailbox to have the messages moved to, or select New and enter a new folder name.<br \/>\nThe messages will be filtered into that folder with no other intervention from you.
