How to Find Your Version of Windows

Ever need to know if you are using Windows 7, Windows 10, or whatever? Here’s a quick way to confirm:

  1. Type the key combination Windows+R (the Windows key is typically near the Ctrl key)
  2. In the Run window, type: winver and click OK.

A pop-up displays the Windows version that you are running.

Real Emails and Scams: How do You Tell the Difference?

We’ve all encountered these emails—official-looking messages that say “Click here to reactivate your account,” or “Click here to confirm your identity,” etc–emails that are really just scam attempts.

Some of them are quite tricky! They might appear to come from someone you know, or look like an official notice, nudging you to act with warnings about bank balances or email quotas.

Be careful.  Be wary.  And be aware of certain cues.

Also know this: UVM IT staff will NEVER ask for your passwords.
