11/11/24 60° Cloudy, windy, Centennial woods
Sitting on a hill in the outskirts of Centennial Woods I have a 200° view overlooking the woods surrounded by ferns and trees. about halfway up the canopy of trees at the base I have a great view of the understory and the canopy. The ground is covered with needles and leaves of all different colors. The ground surrounding the hill has a great amount of fallen trees. I hear the wind hitting against the leaves and trees. The crunch of twigs and leaves birds taking overhead, the occasional plane. It smells like pines and autumn. The ground is damp. I noticed That the forest is never still and that every force has an important role in the ecosystem

Changes from 10/13/24
Trees have much fewer leaves on their branches. There are many more leaves on the ground as they have started to fall. The leaves are more vibrant (changed colors). The forest is much more barren, you can tell the animals are getting ready to leave and starting to store food.
I hear fewer animals, mostly small game rummaging around on the floor of the forest. I hear some birds chirping, but less than my last visit.
