I chose to do my phenology project in the eastern parts of Centennial Woods in between Centennial Courts and the stream flowing through the forest. I chose this spot because it is easily accessible, and has high levels of biodiversity and vegetative density.

Vegetation:
I chose this spot for diversity of plants in the area. It is a heavily wooded area in close proximity to developed areas and on the outer edge of Centennial Woods. There are many different types of trees in the canopy and thick vegetation on the ground.
While identifying plant life I found at least one of the following species:
Solomon’s Plume
Black Cherry
Alleghany Blackberry
Calico Aster
Common Blue Wood Aster
Alternate-Leaved Dogwood – The most common plant on the forest floor
American Chestnut
Thicket Creeper
American Hornbeam
Sugar Maple
Winged Euonymus – Research Grade
Intermediate Wood Fern
Bur Oak
Goldenrods – Could not identify specific species
Fly Honeysuckle
Norway Maple
*These observations might not all be correct.
