The Circle of Courage, a strengths-based development philosophy, identified four crucial elements that may be useful guideposts as you navigate classes, activities, relationships and responsibilities:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Belonging<\/strong>: Relationships of Respect<br \/>\n<strong>Mastery<\/strong>: Competence and Achievement<br \/>\n<strong>Independence<\/strong>: Personal Responsibility \/ Inner Discipline<br \/>\n<strong>Generosity<\/strong>: Making Positive Contributions<\/p>\n<p><strong>Belonging<\/strong> is one guidepost we use at Career Services.\u00a0 Core elements of building a sense of belonging are: <strong>People, Place &amp; Purpose<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>How can this be helpful? Here are some questions to ask in your work\/life exploration:<\/p>\n<p><strong>People<\/strong>:<br \/>\nWho is doing work you believe in?<br \/>\nWho would you love to work with? Live near? Serve?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Place<\/strong>:<br \/>\nWhere do you have or want to build connection?<br \/>\nIn what type of environment do you flourish?\u00a0 Location? Organizational culture?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose<\/strong>:<br \/>\nWhat do you love doing?<br \/>\nWhat skills to you want to use?
