To stay healthy, we may get the urge to try new health care products or medicine without knowing a lot about them. Unfortunately, health care scams loom. These scams may surface as an email, an advertisement on the internet,\nor as a phone call. The scammers may claim to be linked to doctors or\nhospitals. The offers may look real, but the products could be fake and\nendanger a person\u2019s health. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Signs to spot a health or medical product scam:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/cap\/files\/2019\/04\/IMAG8180-1024x579.jpg\" alt=\"Medicine bottles\" class=\"wp-image-696\" width=\"241\" height=\"137\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/cap\/files\/2019\/04\/IMAG8180-1024x579.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/cap\/files\/2019\/04\/IMAG8180-300x170.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/cap\/files\/2019\/04\/IMAG8180-768x434.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/cap\/files\/2019\/04\/IMAG8180-500x283.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 241px) 100vw, 241px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>An unsolicited email\/advertisement offering a popular medication at a very low price.<\/li><li>The products are very cheap and offer \u201ccure-all\u201d characteristics.<\/li><li>The seller claims a prescription is not necessary.<\/li><li>You\u2019ve never heard of the product.<\/li><li>The mentioned doctor is not real.<\/li><li>There is no scientific data on the product.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>If you find a new health and medical product that you are\nunsure of, always ask a trusted and licensed healthcare professional about it. If\nyou find a suspicious healthcare website, do not give any personal information\nor financial information.
