I am seeking an undergraduate student to work on a collaborative project with researchers in Cuenca, Ecuador. The ideal candidate will be a junior or senior in AY26-27 majoring in Geosciences, Environmental Science, or Environmental Engineering with some course work in water chemistry, pollutant movement through air\/land\/water, or wastewater treatment and<\/strong> <\/em>in geospatial technologies (GIS, remote sensing). Registration for course work in these areas in Fall ’26 will qualify applicants for the position.<\/p>\n This opportunity extends an initial collaboration with Ecuadorian researchers described in this paper<\/a> and will support the work of a visiting scholar (example research here<\/a> and here<\/a>).<\/p>\n The project will involve academic credit in Fall ’26 with the potential for research travel to Ecuador in Summer ’27. Students with some Spanish language skills and those interested in developing a senior honors thesis are especially encouraged to apply. Applications may be submitted to this form<\/a> until August 15, 2026 <\/strong>or until the position is filled.<\/p>\n I recruit graduate students through the Geology program in the College of Arts & Sciences (MS only) and through the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources (MS and PhD). I accept graduate students only when I am able to support them on research grants.
