Howdy! I’m Annalena (she/her), a senior majoring in History and German and minoring in Sociology. I grew up in central Maine and have really loved my time at Vermont- I’ll take any opportunity to get outside, go hiking and skiing, and wander through the woods. On campus I am the secretary of UVM’s Space Club, a member of the Honors College, been published in the literary magazine The Gist, taken part in the Phi Alpha Theta and Alpha Kappa Delta honors societies, and am currently working on an Accelerated Masters Program in Secondary Level Curriculum and Education. I love to travel, be outside, and give my friends really good hugs. I hope to one day work at international schools to continue to meet interesting people, stay curious, and see as much of the world as I can.
Caroline Van Hemel – President
Hi! I’m Caroline Van Hemel (she/her) and I’m thrilled to be the first female-identifying president of the Boulder Society. I grew up in southern Maine, and I’m double majoring in Geography and History, with a minor in Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies. Outside Boulder, I’m a research assistant in the geography department and closely involved with FeelGood, as well as being part of honor societies for both History and GSWS. If I’m not doing homework somewhere in Old Mill, I can usually be found baking cookies, reading a good book, or wandering old cemeteries, and I’m so excited to keep exploring Vermont during the remainder of my senior year!

EJ is a senior Forestry major from Massachusetts with a love for the outdoors and a passion for community building. When not in the woods, they enjoy spending their time birding, hiking, or hanging with their current service dog in training, Percy. EJ is the president of UPRAWR, raises a dog for the club, and works closely with Service TREK.

My name is Everett Mader, and I study Neuroscience with an individually designed minor in Architectural Studies. At UVM, I’ve been a leader with the Psychedelic Science Club, where I developed a strong passion for substance harm reduction and safety education. Beyond neuroscience, I’m deeply interested in experiential and spatial design, exploring how environments shape the way people feel and interact. I also enjoy working with my hands through carpentry, which has given me a practical lens for thinking about design and building.

Hello! My name is Lily Dubin and I am happy to be the Secretary and junior link for the Boulder society class of 26. I am originally from Fort Collins, Colorado, and am studying Psychological Science. I am the assistant captain of The Dance Team at UVM (catch me at all men’s and women’s basketball games!) and I am also involved in Psi Chi, the psychology honors society. Outside of school I love painting, playing the piano, and adventuring about!

Rory Treanor – Vice President
Hey there! My name is Rory Treanor, and I’m the Vice President for the Boulder Society, Class of 2026. I’m from Chadds Ford, PA and am studying art history and chemistry in pursuit of a career in art conservation or conservation science. Aside from Boulder, I’m the School of the Arts Representative in Art History and an officer for both FeelGood and ChemCats, so you can usually find me loitering somewhere in Innovation. In my free time, though, I love to read, play guitar, cook for friends, and take photos on one of far too many analog cameras that I’ve collected from antique shops. UVM has given me so much in my four years here, and I’m thrilled to make this community even better with my Boulder peers.
