My chest heaves<\/span><\/p>\n

As I weave through the leaves<\/span><\/p>\n

That the winter\u2019s frost<\/span><\/p>\n

Forgot to freeze and rot.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Can they see me<\/span><\/p>\n

Through these trees?<\/span><\/p>\n

I stop and drop<\/span><\/p>\n

On my knees atop<\/span><\/p>\n

The leaves.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I will my breath to cease.<\/span><\/p>\n

The cop could hear me <\/span><\/p>\n

Breathe release and seize<\/span><\/p>\n

My need for victory.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This is not hide-and-seek.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is man hunt.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Down on the ground<\/span><\/p>\n

I hide from the sound<\/span><\/p>\n

Of boys being found.<\/span><\/p>\n

I confide in the dark bark<\/span><\/p>\n

Around and bide my time.<\/span><\/p>\n

I will not be found.<\/span><\/p>\n

The light in the night glows <\/span><\/p>\n

From the life that shows <\/span><\/p>\n

Bright through the windows.<\/span><\/p>\n

Excitement ignites echoes<\/span><\/p>\n

That grow<\/span><\/p>\n

And grow<\/span><\/p>\n

And go.<\/span><\/p>\n

I look to the stars that are<\/span><\/p>\n

As they are and feel<\/span><\/p>\n

Like a crook as I steal<\/span><\/p>\n

A look from afar.<\/span><\/p>\n

The cries of the guys dwindle <\/span><\/p>\n

And die as they meander<\/span><\/p>\n

Inside while I hide<\/span><\/p>\n

And kindle my pride.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

For I know what they don\u2019t<\/span><\/p>\n

And can feel what they won\u2019t<\/span><\/p>\n

Since what\u2019s real is a joke<\/span><\/p>\n

Because real is this oak<\/span><\/p>\n

Where I feel the surreal.<\/span><\/p>\n

So go.<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ll sit here alone<\/span><\/p>\n

With my dear oak and grow<\/span><\/p>\n

On my own in this queer <\/span><\/p>\n

World so near unknown.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And I\u2019ll glow.<\/span><\/p>\n

But for now I go <\/span><\/p>\n

With poise back to the boys <\/span><\/p>\n
