Today I went back to my phenology spot to observe signs of spring. Despite the solid 7 inches of snow still on the ground, there were many phenological signs of spring to explore! This included buds swelling, some even showing new, green buds, along with some more animal activity than usual. I heard more bird calls, and saw track activity of deer and squirrels in the snow. It was somewhat hard to detect because the snow was quite wet and deep, but in shallower parts I was able to see some more defined tracks. I will attach pictures of the buds, and the spring forest.
