Charles Dickens once said “Nature gives to every time and season some beauties of its own; and from morning to night, as from the cradle to the grave, is but a succession of changes so gentle and easy, that we can scarcely mark their progress” (The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby).
When we take time to document the changes from morning to night, or from season to season, we reveal to ourselves the true beauty of nature. It is constantly in a state of transition, its energy flowing in infinite ways. From this project I have learned to step back and appreciate the beauty and complexity of all aspects of living systems, from the tips of tree roots in the soil to the very top of their crowns – and everything in between. It is truly possible to find the amazing in the ordinary.
