Hello! This is Ben Anderson’s Phenology Blog!
I chose this site because it contains a lot of species diversity, and is right on the edge of Lake Champlain. This is important to me because I come from MA, not near any bodies of water nearly as large as Champlain, and so I am interested to learn about the effects a lake as large as Champlain has when in close proximity to a forest ecosystem. The site is located right next to a cliff face as well, which I imagine will effect the soil concentration through erosion over thousands of years. The most common woody plant species are white oak, Eastern Hemlock, White Pine, and Red Maple.
