Hey there, welcome to my NR001 phenology blog!

For starters, my phenology spot of choice lies directly next to the ECHO Center at the base of College Street. A long rectangular strip of grass reaches from the College St. bus turn-around to the “Boat house” restaurant at the end of the pier. With my “spot” there are several medium sized trees and a small circle of non-native plants, other than that the main “plant” present is… grass.

I chose the spot because it’s one that stuck in my memory from my many walks on the waterfront early in the year. It was also the spot my ENSC001 group chose to observe environmental impacts and I quite liked it because I was a small pocket of active nature in an otherwise busy area. It provided a contrast that the park as a whole could not.
