When I went to my plot today, I noticed that there were not as many animal tracks as I believed there would be. I saw some bird tracks in the snow and tried to photograph them, but it is somewhat difficult to see. I believe these prints might have belonged to some winter finches which I saw flying around and landing on the dead trees.

Introduction to Centennial woods
My phenology site is a plot of land alongside the freshwater stream that runs through Centennial woods. To get there, you follow the main path starting from the entrance all the way down, and over some wooden steps. I enjoy visiting this plot because it is close to campus, is rich in biodiversity, and I already have a strong sense of place there. I am looking forward to seeing how the woods change and bloom through the seasons.
