Steven Shaviro, Patricia Pisters, Mark Hansen and I entertained a standing-room only crowd (see\u00a0the audience\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/medieninitiative.wordpress.com\/2015\/03\/27\/a-few-post-cinematic-images-scms15\/\">spilling out into the hall here<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The first talk, which\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/medieninitiative.wordpress.com\/2015\/04\/02\/video-post-cinema-andas-speculative-media-theory-part-2-shaviro-scms15\/\">is up already<\/a>, is Steven Shaviro&#8217;s brilliant exegesis of\u00a0&#8220;The Rhythm-Image,&#8221; which Shaviro proposes as the title for the unwritten third volume of Gilles Deleuze&#8217;s <em>Cinema<\/em> series. (The list of such possible titles &#8212; &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/muse.jhu.edu\/journals\/cinema_journal\/summary\/v050\/50.1.daly.html\">Cinema 3.0<\/a>&#8221; for the non-committal &#8212; continues to grow, as Shaviro shows on a\u00a0slide at around 4&#8217;45&#8221;.) The other talks will be added soon.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, <a href=\"http:\/\/culturesofenergy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Final-CENHS-cultures-of-energy-poster.pdf\">here&#8217;s a poster<\/a> for the upcoming <a href=\"http:\/\/news.rice.edu\/2014\/04\/17\/cultures-of-energy-brings-together-leading-energy-environmental-and-humanities-scholars-at-rice\/\">Cultures of Energy<\/a> research symposium at Rice. It promises to be a packed 48 hours of interesting talks.
