(That &#8220;\u0275&#8221; in &#8220;Ch\u0275rnobyl&#8221; is intentional; I discuss it in the talk.) In addition to updating some of my work on the Ch\u0275rnobyl &#8220;hyper-event&#8221; and its multiple impacts, the talk touches on some background relevant to the current situation in Ukraine.
