{"id":11718,"date":"2021-04-09T08:19:38","date_gmt":"2021-04-09T13:19:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/aivakhiv\/?p=11718"},"modified":"2021-04-09T08:19:43","modified_gmt":"2021-04-09T13:19:43","slug":"mediaenvironment-at-fleff-tonight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/aivakhiv\/2021\/04\/09\/mediaenvironment-at-fleff-tonight\/","title":{"rendered":"Media+Environment at FLEFF tonight"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Happy to share that I&#8217;ll be participating in a panel\/conversation at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ithaca.edu\/finger-lakes-environmental-film-festival\">Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival (FLEFF)<\/a>, in a celebration of open-access journal <a href=\"https:\/\/mediaenviron.org\/\">Media+Environment<\/a>, today from 5:00 to 6:30 pm Eastern Daylight Time (21:00-22:30 GMT). FLEFF, which is <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Finger_Lakes_Environmental_Film_Festival\">now in its 24th year<\/a>, is one of the signature <a href=\"https:\/\/rachelcarsoncouncil.org\/environmental-film-festivals\/\">environmental film festivals<\/a> around the world. This year\u2019s festival is fully virtual and open to all registrants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tonight\u2019s event will feature the journal\u2019s three co-editors (Janet Walker, Alenda Chang, and myself) plus contributor Christina Vagt and coordinating editor Stephen Borunda speaking on the role of open-access journals like M+E in mediating and expanding the intersections between media production and environmental action.
